Emily Bennett Promoted to Partner at Owl Ventures

April 6, 2025

We are pleased to share that Emily Bennett has been promoted to Partner at Owl Ventures.

Emily’s journey with Owl began in 2020, when she joined the team as an MBA intern working entirely remotely in the midst of the pandemic. From day one, Emily brought thoughtfulness, humility, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Over the past several years, she has grown into a core leader on our team—contributing meaningfully across the investment process, partnering with founders, and helping shape the future of the firm.

In addition to sourcing and evaluating new opportunities, she has worked closely with many of Owl’s portfolio companies—including Brisk Teaching, Schemata, Linus, Sizzle AI, StudyFetch, and Fizz—offering strategic support on product, growth, and go-to-market initiatives. She partners especially closely with early-stage founders and has played a key role in Owl’s investments at the intersection of education and AI. Her strategic vision and collaborative leadership have made her an invaluable partner to both founders and colleagues alike.

“Emily’s passion for the future of education combined with her deep product experience and instincts has led her to identify the most promising new companies in the global edtech industry."

“Emily’s passion for the future of education combined with her deep product experience and instincts has led her to identify the most promising new companies in the global edtech industry. She has already become one of the global thought leaders on education technology and is a trusted partner to some of the fastest growing companies our industry has ever seen,” said Tory Patterson, Managing Director and Partner at Owl Ventures.

Emily brings a strong foundation in product strategy and marketing from her prior experience at Facebook, The New York Times, and Spotify. At Facebook, she was a Product Marketing Manager for News Integrity, launching initiatives aimed at curbing misinformation and promoting high-quality journalism. She previously served as a Product Manager at The New York Times, where she focused on immersive video experiences, and at Spotify, where she worked on growth strategies for the artist-facing platform.

“Education has shaped my perspectives and has enabled unique access, helping me navigate a career transition from operating to venture capital,” said Emily Bennett. “I’m deeply connected to our work at Owl and feel grateful to continue partnering with our mission-driven founder community transforming education globally.”

Emily earned her bachelor’s degree from Middlebury College, where she graduated magna cum laude and was actively involved in music and creative writing. She received her M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. She is based in the San Francisco Bay Area and continues to work closely with Owl’s global portfolio.

This promotion recognizes the tremendous impact Emily has already had at Owl—and is a celebration of everything we know she will continue to bring in this next chapter.
