Lyman is a Vice President at Owl Ventures. He began his career at Google for Education, where he did a myriad of jobs focused on bringing Chromebooks, GSuite, and Google Classroom to the Global K-12 market. Lyman’s final role of his 6-year Google stint was running Business Development and Partnerships. In this role, he founded the Google for Education Partner Program (which now had hundreds of members globally), led VR content development for Google Expeditions, and developed strategy for the K12 SMB segment.
Lyman then went on to run business development, M&A, international expansion, investor relations, and product partnerships at Newsela, a K12 instructional content and assessment platform. Lyman sourced and led 4 acquisitions for Newsela, which included everything from tech+team tuck-ins to scaled mergers. Lyman built and owned the whole M&A process from sourcing to integration. Lyman also created the business development function before changing roles to Corp Dev, where he helped build a network of revenue-influencing partnerships that currently account for millions in K12 B2B sales each year.
Lyman graduated from Dartmouth College, where he majored in Economics and Anthropology and played varsity soccer for 4 years.
